Maintenance Engineering Apprentice


Engineers are visionaries who make our world function smoothly. Sometimes however things don’t go as planned. That is when we need the skills of  Maintenance Engineers, who can prevent equipment from breaking down and fault find before fixing the issue.

Maintenance Engineering Apprentices undertake a period of structured off-the-job foundation training to achieve the following qualifications:

  • Producing components using hand fitting techniques
  • Maintaining mechanical devices and equipment
  • Maintaining electrical equipment/systems

Functional Skills training is a fundamental part of the Apprenticeship and provides further development in everyday work related skills. Apprentices work towards the Maintenance Engineering Apprenticeship complete the following:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Information and Communications Technology

Technical Certificates for Apprentices are undertaken over two years on a day release basis at ATG Training – Future Centre.

The BTEC National Certificate in Engineering and Electronics applies to this Apprenticeship. Further BTEC details are available on request.
