Apprenticeships are valuable and recognised, structured learning programmes which give you a head start in your career. Apprentices learn on the job, building up knowledge and skills, gaining qualifications and earning money - all at the same time. There are no set entry requirements for many Apprenticeships but you will benefit from having achieved good communication and numeracy skills.

There are two levels of Apprenticeship: the Apprenticeship and Advanced Apprenticeship. Both lead to the achievement of National Vocational Qualifications. These qualifications are based on your performance in the workplace. You will also gain your Key Skills qualification and that will give you valuable transferable skills that you need for work, education and everyday life. You will also acquire a Technical Certificate which shows that you have the knowledge that you need for your job. The Technical Certificate could be a City and Guilds or a BTEC qualification and is delivered in ATG's Training Centres.

ATG also delivers Programme Led Pathway (PLP) Apprenticeships in Engineering, Construction and ICT. You can apply to ATG and, if selected, you will join us at our Aylesbury Centre for six months full time training. This will provide a firm basis for your apprenticeship and while you are with us our Recruitment and Placement team will introduce you to employers looking for apprentices. Once employed (over 90% of our apprentices leave us to start full time work), you will progress onto an Advanced Apprenticeship.

NVQs provide the opportunity to develop competency in the workplace. The aim of NVQs is to contribute to the development of a skilled workforce. They are based on industry standards and they are assessed in the workplace. Employees demonstrate that they have acquired the skills and knowledge required for the job. ATG delivers NVQs at levels 1 - 4.
