ICT

On 2nd March ATG Training launched its Microsoft Academy.  David Lidington MP and Councillor Janet Blake attended the launch of the facility and commented on ATG’s “restless innovation”.  ATG’s ICT Apprentices will benefit from the new Microsoft-certified courses immediately and short-courses begin soon.  Contact ATG Training to discuss your Microsoft training requirements.  ATG is also a newly-recognised Prometric Testing Centre, which means that those who have studied courses elsewhere can sit their exams in a modern, local facility.

Engineering

ATG’s Board of Trustees have recently approved investment in new CNC machinery for the engineering programme.  This new equipment will give businesses the opportunity to train and practice on modern machining equipment supported by the latest CAD/CAM software.  With short and medium-length courses available, ATG is able to meet many business’ needs for training.

Electrical Training

ATG has expanded its Electrical Training area and can now accommodate 36 students on its six-month, full-time programme.  With excellent instructor-to-student ratios, ATG has a track record of starting apprentices on a career in electrical installation and maintenance.  With ATG’s recruitment cycles,  there are start dates to suit anyone so applicants need not be constrained by the academic year.  Contact ATG to find out how to join this exciting programme.

Motorsports

ATG’s modern engineering facility in Aylesbury will host a new Apprenticeship programme from September 2010.  Sixteen students will undertake a six-month full-time motorsports apprenticeship sponsored by a major national supplier.  The course will give students a foundation-level education in racing car assembly and maintenance and leads to employment opportunities in the motorsports, vehicle and wider engineering industries.  Early enquiries suggest the course will be extremely popular.  Contact ATG today to discuss vacancies in September.

Cycle Maintenance

ATG Training has been selected as a training partner for London’s Cycle Hire Scheme.  ATG Training will advertise and select 29 apprentices to work on the London hire fleet.  The apprentices will be attending ATG’s world-class Cycle Academy in Aylesbury for ten days in April and will then be assessed in their new roles until the summer.  ATG faced competition from numerous London-based competitors but won the business because of its national reputation and stunning facilities.  Another step on ATG’s path to becoming the first point of contact for all things cycle-related.  Serco, who are running the London Cycle Hire Scheme, are discussing other partnering opportunities for ATG.
