Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing Team visits ATG Training

The first ever BTCC (British Touring Car Championship) race team to use Biofuels visited ATG Training recently.

The team has achieved its first podium finish on only its second race day in the 10 race series, and took time out to talk to Engineering, Electrical and ICT Apprentices at the Future Centre in Aylesbury.

Both Cartridge World Carbon Zero race drivers - Adam Jones and Dan Eaves, plus Richard Cronk, Commercial Director of Carbon Zero Racing - together with a replica of the race car took questions from an excited crowd of ambitious apprentices.

Eager to learn from the teams’ commercial experience, many questions ranged around how team members got started in their careers and what the best route to becoming a race engineer is. Professional as ever both Adam and Dan spoke at length and with great humour providing inspiration to ATG Apprentices. Of particular interest was the green credentials of the race team which is fuelled by Bioethanol and yet is still highly competitive on the race circuit. Increasingly, engineering solutions are being brought to the world and ATG Apprentices will be at the forefront of new technologies.
