Qualification Summary

Suspension servicing and setup requires knowledge of the principles behind suspension designs. This 2 day course will enable you to understand the different parts of a suspension fork and their functions as well as fault diagnosis and basic servicing. With that knowledge you can better advise riders how to look after their forks, what maintenance is needed and carry out routine service tasks.

Professional cycle mechanics fault finding and servicing suspension forks.
Experienced enthusiasts with experience of servicing suspension forks.

  • Select the right suspension fork for a particular use
  • Understand the principles of springs and damping
  • Carry out oil changes and seal replacement on suspension forks
  • Setup spring rate, sag and damping for a specific purpose
  • Diagnose problems with suspension forks and decide on the most cost effective course of action

Competent mechanic preferably with NVQ2 or Cytech Two
