Who is the Cytech technical three electronic gear systems course aimed at?

The Cytech technical three electronic gear systems course is aimed at individuals who are new to electronic gear system installation, diagnostics, adjustment and set up.

What does the Cytech technical three electronic gear systems course cover?

The Cytech technical three electronic gear systems course covers installation, set up, diagnostic and adjustment that could reasonably be expected to be performed in a well-equipped cycle workshop. It is meant so that on completion of the course those attending will be more confident as to what jobs they can undertake and be familiar with the terminology, troubleshooting, servicing and set up of Electronic gear systems. Shimano’s Di2 electrical groupset will be used to learn how to set up an electronic gear system with the on-bike junction box and how to set up and fault diagnoses using the PC interface system. You will also be able to set up an electronic gear system to specific rider preferences, store and apply data files to multiple bikes and apply firmware updates to each system.

Upon completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand how electronic gear systems work and be able to translate this knowledge to different brands / models of electronic gear systems
  • Know the specific installation procedure to be followed when working with electronic gear systems
  • Know how to set up an electronic gear system with the on-bike junction box
  • Know how to set up and fault diagnose using the PC interface system
  • Be able to set up an electronic gear system to specific rider preferences, store and apply data files to multiple bikes and apply firmware updates to each system

Who is the course suitable for?

  • The Cytech technical three electronic gear systems course is suitable for those who have completed the ‘core modules' (Hydraulics, Suspension and Advanced wheel build) modules and are looking for additional training modules to complete their Cytech technical three  or as additional Cytech technical three training modules
  • The Cytech technical three electronic gear systems course is suitable for those with little or no experience of electronic gear systems and those who wish to confirm the knowledge they already have
  • It is suitable for those with a Cytech technical two/equivalent or as a guide, 3-4 years industry knowledge
  • It is suitable for those who are nervous about dealing with Electronic gear systems
  • Those who have a basic knowledge of computer use

Who is the course NOT suitable for?

  • The Cytech technical three electronic gear systems course it not suitable for those who will not get the future experience of servicing Electronic gear systems in the workshop on completion of the course to keep the knowledge learned valid
  • Those who do not hold a Cytech technical two/equivalent qualification or with less than 3 years industry experience
  • Those with at least 1-2 years of electronic gear systems servicing who have received manufacturer training in company and regularly service electronic gear systems
  • Those who are not comfortable with basic computer use

Note:

Future experience on top of this course (gained in company and from manufacturer training courses) is reasonably expected for those completing the Cytech technical three  electronic gear systems course due to the nature of brand specific product and the continuous changes and developments that are being made to  Electronic gear systems
