The Cytech technical three tubular and tubeless tyre course is aimed at individuals who have little or no experience about mounting tubular and tubeless systems and would like to know the correct procedure along with being able to identify suitable glue and sealant types. It would also suit those who have historically found it difficult to mount these systems in a way that offers optimal performance and those who would like to repair punctures in tubular tyres. The course expects a good prior level of cycle knowledge from those attending.
The Cytech technical three tubular and tubeless tyre course covers an explanation of the construction and different types of tubular tyres, the different methods of adhesion for different riding disciplines (Road / CX / MTB) preparing a new and used rim prior to installation, preparing a new and used tubular prior to installation, the storage of tubulars, the steps required to adhere a tubular to a tubular rim, puncture prevention, recommended tyre pressures along with how to store and mount a pre-glued tubular when out riding. For tubeless systems the course covers an explanation of the different types of tubeless standard (UST / Rim strip / Schwalbe Pro-Core) compatibility of rim and tyres, choosing the correct size rim strip and tyre, preparation of the rim and tyre prior to installation of MTB and Road tubeless systems, installation of rim strip, mounting the tyre to the bead of the rim correctly and safely using track pumps and compressed air, adding and topping up sealant and recommended tyre pressures.
This is intended as a Cytech technical three add on module that can be used separately or in combination with the Cytech technical three core values to achieve the full Cytech technical three qualification
