It aims to build upon this knowledge by offering the opportunity to work on more complex, higher end wheel builds that come in varying spoke patterns

The Cytech Technical Three Advanced Wheel Building course covers the building, truing and tensioning of more complex, higher end road and mountain bike wheels. It is meant so that on completion of the course those attending will be more confident when building and maintaining advanced wheels made from expensive materials. The course has been designed as an overview of the Advanced wheel market and to get the most from this course it is recommended that those attending apply this knowledge to the different brands of Advanced wheel currently available when they return to their own workshops.

Understand how manufacturers design advanced wheels along with the tensions required and be able to translate this knowledge to different brands / models of Advanced wheel
Know how to calculate spokes when working with off-set rims and frames
Know how to build, lace and maintain an advanced wheel (road or mountain bike)
Who is the course suitable for?
The Cytech Technical Three Advanced Wheel Building course is suitable for those with experience of Cytech Technical Two three cross wheel building
It is suitable for those with a Cytech Technical Two/equivalent qualification or as a guide, 3-4 years experience of wheel building
It is suitable for those who are nervous about dealing with expensive, high end advanced wheels
Those with at least 3-4 years of Advanced wheel servicing who have received manufacturer training in company and regularly build advanced wheels
Who is the course NOT suitable for?
The Cytech Technical Three Advanced Wheel Building course it not suitable for those who will not get the future experience of servicing Advanced wheels in the workshop on completion of the course to keep the knowledge learned valid
Those who do not hold a Cytech Technical Two/equivalent qualification
Future experience on top of this course (gained in company and from manufacturer training courses) is reasonably expected for those completing the Cytech Techncial Three Advanced Wheel Building course due to the nature of brand specific product and the continuous changes and developments that are being made to high end wheels
