One day basic cycle maintenance course

The Cycle Academy are putting their training expertise behind a one day basic cycle maintenance course.

Commonly referred to as a Doctor Bike session this is designed for riders who would like to learn the basics of home cycle maintenance, trailside repairs, simple fixes and adjustments.

Whether you use your bike to commute and want to make sure it doesn't let you down or are a keen rider who has spent thousands on high-tech kit, it's a chance for you to get a taste of maintaining your own bike and will also help you to carry out a simple safety check pre-ride. Knowing the right way to service and maintain your own bike can be a real worthwhile investment.

The course includes:-

• Using tools
• Explaining names used on cycles
• Carrying out a safety check
• Post ride cleaning and inspections
• Basic repairs on the move including;

Wheel removal, tyre and inner tube fitting, chain splitting, how to use a pump properly, basic wheel truing, ‘get you home’ repairs and tools you should carry whilst riding.

Courses will be taking place in either our workshop in Aylesbury or in Manchester so there's bound to be a venue to suit. We've invested heavily in our training facilities to make sure that you get the most productive experience possible.

We are the industry leading cycle maintenance training providers, in fact, the only one that the government funds directly through the Learning and Skills Council to provide training to the cycle trade.

You'll have hands on tuition from one of our experienced instructors, working in a safe environment using some of the best tools available to the industry. We cater for all abilities and hope that by showing you the basics you will be able to progress with us to learn about even more technical areas of cycle maintenance and repair.

The cost for all this is £125 inclusive of VAT.

Courses are available in both Aylesbury and Manchester.
