Shimano Groupset

Do you want to learn to install and set up gears and brakes?
Would you like to understand how to remove, service or replace bottom brackets and various drive train components?
Would you like to be able to service hubs and free hubs?

Introduction and qualfication objectives

Shimano Group-set is designed to give the mechanic the ability to install, set up and adjust gears, brakes and drive train. It’s a 3 day course and there are a lot of areas to cover. By the end of the three days the mechanic will have a great depth of mechanical ability over a range of skills.

Ideally the mechanic will already have gained knowledge and skill through the completion of Cytech Practical One, making the Group-set course the logical progression.

Over the 3 days the learner will work with a wide variety of components giving them a good understanding of the principles of their function. Each mechanic will have the opportunity to work with road, mountain bike and hybrid groupsets. This will provide a great base for further skill development in the workplace.
