IOSH Managing Safely Workshop

This four day workshop introduces managers to Health & Safety in the workplace and is accredited by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

The Managing Safely workshop aims to give practising and potential managers an introduction to the concept of safety and health in the workplace.  The focus is on equipping the manager with the knowledge and skills to apply sound management principles to safety and health issues as part of a total management strategy.

Training is followed by an examination and workplace project which counts towards the award of an IOSH Certificate.

The ATG Training Consultant team achieves a high success rate in IOSH Examinations with a continuing pass rate of 100%. Pass rates are above the national average.

• General principles of conducting risk assessment
• Definitions vital to the use of risk assessment
• Systems for utilising risk assessment information

Module 4 – Understanding your responsibilities

• English legal system
• Civil and Criminal law systems
• Employer’s liability
• Specific health and safety legislation placing duties on the manager

Module 5 – Identifying Hazards

• Identification of hazards and analysis of risks
• Practical management strategies for specific hazard types

Module 6 – Investigating Accidents and incidents

• Safety Auditing and Safety Inspection programmes.
• Prepare and run schedules
• Analyse data from programmes

Module 7 – Measuring Performance

• Use information from all previous modules to set up and manage health and safety plans

Module 8 - Protecting our Environment

• Systems to reduce and eliminate corporate environmental damage
