Business Administration NVQ Level 2
Candidates completing this course will be able to choose options including secretarial, IT, communication and financial units. The course is designed to contribute to the skills and knowledge of candidates, but also contributes to the overall performance and profitability of the business. At this level candidates will be completing a range of administrative tasks under supervision.
Business Administration NVQ Level 3
Candidates completing this course will be able to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of Business and Administration. It provides insight into the principles and processes of Business and will aid career progression. At this level candidates are expected to display in-depth knowledge of subjects covered in the lower levels as well as an understanding of more specialised areas such as events and travel.
Business Administration NVQ Level 4
Candidates completing this course will be able to manage the overall performance of Business and Administration. It provides insight into the principles and processes of Business and will aid career progression. Candidates will most likely operate across a range of technical and professional work with much responsibility. Options include managing an office, managing contracts, negotiating budgets, recruiting personnel and promoting change.
Business Improvement Techniques. Lean Manufacturing
The BIT NVQ is delivered by high achieving manufacturing practitioners and is a down-to-earth, hands-on programme designed for supervisors, team leaders and operators in companies that have lean systems in place but are looking to engage the wider workforce in continuous improvement activities. It teaches them how to identify and eliminate waste, create flow and improve quality leading to greater efficiency and increased profitability. Under the government's Train to Gain scheme these qualifications can be fully funded at level 2 and substantially funded at level 3. And following a recent relaxation of the eligibility rules private companies can access this funding (at various levels) even where the learner has a previous qualification at that level. This means that you can now access high quality skills development delivered by experienced Manufacturing Institute lean practitioners at little or no cost.
Customer Service NVQ Level 2
Candidates completing this course will gain a first insight into the principles and processes of the delivery of customer service, focussing on good customer service and thus enhancing the experience of the customer. Candidates will be prepared to carry out a variety of tasks and will also be able to take responsibility for their own work. As well as being able to work on their own, candidates will have to prove that they can also work as part of a team and support improvements to customer service. This will aid the organisation’s development and profitability as customers will be more likely to return and give recommendations to others.
Customer Service NVQ Level 3
Candidates completing this course will gain a first insight into the principles and processes of the delivery of customer service. Candidates will be able to identify and implement improvements to customer service and carry out complex and non-routine tasks. As well as being able take responsibility for their own work, candidates will need to prove that they can work alone and as part of a team. This will aid the organisation’s development and profitability as customers will be more likely to return and give recommendations to others. At this level, candidates will be working in a customer service role at a supervisory level.
Engineering NVQ Levels 2 & 3.
NVQs are available to all age groups and provide the opportunity to develop technical proficiency in the workplace. Engineering NVQs can be part of an Apprenticeship or stand-alone qualifications. ATG offers Engineering NVQs at Levels 2 and 3. Apprenticeships which include NVQs are available to all ages and could be funded for 16-24 subject to eligibility. Occasionally we have funding for over 25’s NVQs are based on industry standards and learners demonstrate that they have acquired the skills and knowledge required. NVQs are assessed in the workplace and learners need to be employed for a minimum of 16 hours per week. The primary objective of an NVQ is to contribute to the development of a skilled workforce. Level 2 is suitable for semi-skilled employees. Level 3 is suitable for technicians, craft and supervisory employees.

Manufacturing NVQ Level 2: Performing Manufacturing Operations. All those seeking recognition of their competence in one or more of a wide variety of activities engaged in repetitive operations. There are no entry requirements or age restrictions. Can be used as a stand alone qualification or as part of Foundation Modern Apprenticeship (requires the Technical certificate 60 hours of self study).
Information Communication and Technology (ICT) NVQ Level 2
At this level, candidates will be working at a practical level, setting up networks, diagnosing hardware faults, finding software problems, building PCs, running diagnostic tests and repairing faults. Apprenticeships as Engineering above.
IT Professionals, Information Communication and Technology (ICT). NVQ Level 3
Candidates completing this course are likely to be Supervisors or Team Leaders, they will have responsibility for monitoring the work of ICT Practioners as well as working at a practical level, setting up networks, diagnosing hardware faults, finding software problems, building PCs, running diagnostic tests and repairing faults. Apprenticeships as Engineering above.
ITQ (Information Technology Qualification). NVQ Level 2
Candidates completing this course will be able to improve their IT skills and learn new skills. The qualification is flexible, recognising that required skills vary from work place to work place, candidates are able to choose the most relevant units to suit their job role. As well as units for software use, this qualification can also include security, maintenance and trouble shooting. At this level, candidates will need to be users who make frequent use of standard office software.
ITQ (Information Technology Qualification) NVQ Level 3
Candidates completing this course will be able to broaden their IT skills and develop in-depth knowledge and skills at a higher level. The qualification is flexible, recognising that required skills vary from work place to work place, candidates are able to choose the most relevant units to suit their job role. As well as units for software use, this qualification can also include security, maintenance and trouble shooting. At level 3 candidates will be IT users, but requiring a range of IT skills at a higher level.
Learning and Development NVQ Level 3
Candidates completing this course will improve their own practice, skills and knowledge of developing and delivering training sessions. The qualification encourages self evaluation of practice and ongoing development. As well as improving the candidate’s ability to identify and agree programmes/aims, they will also use a range of methods to enable learning. This will contribute to the development of the business as candidates will be encouraged to continuously evaluate and improve the learners’ experience, ensuring repeat business and new clients via recommendations. Unit accreditation could also be an option, for example, Assessors would need to complete unit A1 or A2 to become qualified to assess vocation qualifications. At level 3 candidates will be involved in identifying learning aims of programmes, development of training sessions and promotion of learning.
Learning and Development NVQ Level 4
Candidates completing this course will improve their own practice, skills and knowledge of designing, enabling delivery of and evaluating training programmes for both groups and individuals. Candidates will manage contributions to learning made by other people. They will also contribute to the learning of the organization and overall development of the business as candidates will need to continuously evaluate and improve the learners’ experience, ensuring repeat business and new clients via recommendations. Unit accreditation could also be an option, for example, Internal Verifiers would need to complete unit V1 to become qualified to carry out internal verification for vocation qualifications. At level 4 candidates will be involved in all aspects of the learning process, identifying the learning aims, needs and styles of both individuals and groups and evaluating programmes to meet these.
Learning and Development NVQ Level 5
Candidates completing this course will be able to manage the learning function within their organisation and identify the learning and development its needs. Candidates will also be able to develop and implement a strategy for learning and development and effectively promote equality and diversity, developing learning techniques and practices and respond quickly to changes within the profession. They will contribute to the overall efficiency and profitability of the organisation by ensuring its workers are trained and competent in their roles and supported to develop further. At level five, candidates will be working at a strategic level and will be responsible for managing learning and development within an organisation.
Logistics Operations Management NVQ Level 3
The Level 3 NVQ in Logistics Operations Management is based on standards developed by Skills for logistics in line with Industry needs. Candidates completing this course will be better able to manage the logistics process, understanding and meeting customer needs whilst building strong customer relations. Candidates will be able to identify problems, or potential problems and develop contingency plans. As well as developing the skills of candidates and increasing motivation, this will also contribute to the efficient running of the operations, increasing profitability and decreasing waste. At level 3, candidates will be Supervisors or Team Leaders.
Management NVQ Level 3
Candidates completing this course will increase their knowledge and understanding of key management activities and develop their management skills. Candidates will be better able to provide leadership, manage their own resources to ensure work/projects are carried out to achieve optimum results. This not only gives candidates an opportunity to improve their own skills, but also make a positive contribution to developing the business, increasing profitability and reducing wastage. At level 3 candidates will be first line managers who have decision-making responsibilities within defined limits and wider responsibility for people.
Management NVQ Level 4
Candidates completing this course will increase their ability to develop the business, encouraging innovation and providing leadership within their area of responsibility. This award is focused on improving overall management skills and the development of the business. Candidates will make a strong contribution to improving profitability and managing their teams to do so also. At level four, candidates will have moved in to a managerial role at a middle/senior manger level with operational responsibilities and may also have a degree of responsibility for the organisation.
Management NVQ Level 5
Candidates completing this course will increase their ability to develop the business, encouraging innovation and providing leadership within their area of responsibility. This award is focused on improving overall management skills and the development of the business. Candidates will make a strong contribution to improving profitability and managing their teams to do so also. This NVQ is designed for those people who have moved into a senior managerial role at an operational/strategic level and not only have responsibility for staff, but also responsibility for the organisation. They will have operational responsibility for substantial programmes and resources, a broad span of control, will pro-actively identify and implement change and quality improvements; will negotiate budgets and contracts and lead high level meetings.
Management 1st Line Certificate ILM
Team Leading NVQ Level 2
Candidates completing this course will be able to improve their skills, enabling them to lead their teams by example. They will be able to take responsibility for making things happen and make fair and consistent decisions. As well as being able to lead their teams effectively, increasing motivation and agreeing outputs, candidates will be able to develop the business, making a positive contribution to the objectives and profitability of the organisation. At level 2, candidates will be Supervisors, Team Leaders, trainee Managers, Junior Managers or Shift Leaders or anyone with responsibility for a team.
Warehousing and Storage NVQ Level 2
Candidates completing this course will be able to make a positive contribution to their team and workplace as a whole, gaining an insight into the principles and processes of the warehouse. They will benefit by gaining increased skills and knowledge, greater efficiency and higher levels of motivation, improving their own performance and ultimately the performance of the business. At level 2, candidates will be involved in the movement of goods, hygiene, customer service and stock control, or a combination of these areas. They will be working with a colleague who has overall responsibility.
