So far over the 13 weeks I have spent at ATG Training, I have enjoyed myself. The staff are very helpful and the practical work has helped me develop the skills I can use when I get a job. It has also helped me to adapt to what it will be like when I leave. I have met new people and discovered new things that will help me in the future.

Bianca Stacey (18), Childcare Learning & Development

‘’ I first heard about ATG because I was sent a letter about an open day so I decided to go along. I chose the childcare course because it looked interesting. I have really enjoyed the course so far and it has been better than expected.

I really like that you get the experience of being in the childcare setting as well as learning 3 days a week at ATG. Learning in the classroom isn’t boring as we have had fun days (bowling, circus skills) and also people coming in and doing presentations. I find the work quite easy to do but if I get stuck there is always some-one to ask for help.

I’m glad I came to ATG I have learnt a lot and will miss everyone when I leave’’

Jenny Rutland (18), Childcare Learning & Development

‘’I first heard about ATG from my friend who came to this college and told me I should have a look and see what they can do for me. I also heard it on the radio and thought it was interesting and so I phoned up and they were really helpful to me. Now I’m here at ATG with a job and nearly finished my NVQ 2.

I have really enjoyed this course so far, it is very different to other colleges I have been to and I still prefer this college. I have met new friends here at ATG and will stay in contact.

I have already done the level 2 at a different college and didn’t find a work placement so I couldn’t finish off my qualifications, so I came to ATG and I studied it again to boost up my knowledge even further and finally found a work placement to finish of my NVQ2 qualification. I am really happy with ATG they really mean what they say when they will help you find a job they never leave you completely on your own to find a job they guide you in the right directions in finding a job for the future.

The atmosphere here at this college is welcoming and friendly, I really recommend it to everyone who is looking to study something further in their career. It’s a good way to meet new friends and to build up your team work skills. Also, here at ATG, they help to practise for an interview and give you feedback on the things that went well and not so well so you can improve for the time you have a real interview so it goes well.

There is nothing bad about this course what so ever and I would really recommend it to everyone’’

Mr Ian Rutland - Jenny's Father

so Thank you

David Witherden, Technical Support Centre Supervisor, Complete IT Ltd

“I started at ATG Training when I was 18 having decided that university wasn’t for me. After a couple of months I got a job with a Local ISP after I went there for a work experience placement.

I have now been with Complete IT for 4 years and manage two teams in a support centre on an IT helpdesk. I would recommend ATG Training to anyone looking to start a career in IT, as it offers a great way to build up your IT skills whilst working towards an NVQ.”

As a female student at ATG Training, I have found the whole experience educational and rewarding and never felt that my gender was a hinderance.

The college is small enough that you can interact with others on a more personal level, which makes for a much friendlier atmosphere.

I feel the courses on offer at ATG Training will provide a good basis for any females who wish to have a career in a more diverse sector.

My son - Bradley Kenway - is on his last year of his apprenticeship with ATG Training and the support he has received has been outstanding.

ATG really go the extra mile to make sure that young people are treated fairly and given every opportunity possible to succeed.

The staff are friendly and professional.

I have always felt that he is in “safe hands”.

Commercial Candidates

As you know I attended the PAT testing course on 20th August 2008. I just wanted to write and say how impressed I was with the course. The content and organisation could not have been better. The tutor Dave Martin presented the course well and passed on all the information we needed in an interesting and effective way. It can be hard when your used to working as an Electrician to be able to sit in a class and study. However Dave did a great job and even with my 25 years experience I learnt lots of things that I didn't know.

This was my 3rd course at ATG Training the first being the C&G 2391 back in 2006 taken by Ken Fitch a walking encyclopaedia of electrical knowledge. The 2nd being the 17th edition that I took in may this year with Maurice Farmer 17th edition guru! I passed both of these first time as well due to the knowledge and teaching ability of the tutors.

I just wanted to acknowledge the great job you and the team at ATG do in running these courses and organising the exams. Also all the behind the scenes admin work that must go on that we never see.

I have recommended ATG Training to friends and associates of mine and told them all to give Jess a ring and she will sort you out!

Thank you and the Tutors again for a well run interesting course. If I need more training I will be on the phone. Hope the move to bigger premises goes well. Please forward this e-mail as you see fit.

Peter Dixon, Engineering Manager, MGB

“I have over 10 years experience with ATG, Jake is the 4th apprentice to have gone through the system. I have nothing but praise for the dedication and enthusiasm of the ATG staff.
Things are very difficult in engineering, they have been for 22 years since my apprenticeship, every element of training and encouraging young people into engineering is up hill.
Against this backdrop, ATG have provided me with support and a keenness to re-educate young people in the values of a manufacturing culture.
If I had a choice, I would like many more apprentices; young ideas have always made for a good business model.
It is rare nowadays, sadly, for people to take a real interest in manufacturing, as we have been indoctrinated in the service industry culture. I think it is vital that we hang on to and develop the manufacturing we have as it is an essential base for our greatest strength, innovation......
ATG staff has shown to me a great understanding of this. It is apparent from the attitude shown by their students, towards new technology and improved processes, that the will to make things is still very much alive.
I would sum up by saying it should be up to all the local industry to support ATG in its work and take a long view of the manufacturing capability in this area.”

Liz France, Team Leader at Aylesbury Connexions

“As part of a two week ‘Alternatives to Work Experience’ programme, Connexions contacted ATG Training to see if they could run an Engineering taster day for 15 Year 10 students.  These students were a challenging group who found it hard to engage and were lacking in motivation and vocational focus.

ATG Training provided a whole day of activities including team building and two practical taster sessions.  These were well planned and grabbed the student’s attention from the outset.  Students who had previously displayed challenging behaviour engaged fully and found the day very stimulating and thought provoking.  We would wholeheartedly recommend ATG Training to others looking for activities to try to engage students and we found the staff to be very approachable and obliging.”
